In the quest for good lighting where people work or live, natural light
is the light designers first choice. In order to bring natural light
into gloomy rooms, installing a light shaft is standard. But building a
light shaft means tearing up large holes in buildings, occupying
valuable building space.
- With our new luminaire Parans L5 it is possible to install a
light shaft in practically any room without fuzz. The L5 looks and
feels like a light shaft, spreading the same natural light but is
easy to install, says Nils Nilsson, creative director at Parans.
How is this Possible?
The Parans L5 is one of 5 luminaires in the product line of the Parans
system. The Parans system transports sunlight into buildings through
fiber optic cables.
Almost every building has gloomy rooms due to the building’s
architecture. Introducing natural light with the Parans system is an
option that has a comparably low investment and will not interfere with
the usage of the building.
Installationwise, the Parans L5 is plug and play: just hang it in a
standard suspended ceiling and connect the cables. You can of course
also mount in in other types of ceilings.
Hybrid Luminaire
The Parans L5 is a hybrid luminaire which means that it is capable of
lighting up rooms also at times when the sun does not shine. It is
equipped with T5 fluorescent tubes that dims automatically according to
how much natural light that is emitted.
This provides a basic light level but
when the sun comes on, the light will be brighter and the experience of
sunlight is instant.
