The New York Times has written an interesting article about CookFox Architects' offices in New York which are designed to promote health.

People spend approximately 90% of their time indoors and until recently we have not known how it affects us. Now we know that we pay a high price for spending so much time indoors. For example, in offices that are confined and dark, the stress level of humans rises and when the ventilation is poor, our cognitive ability becomes poor and we do not perform well. By mimicking the nature and designing the offices with our biology in mind, we can create good and healthy work environments where we become more productive and have fewer sickdays. An important factor in this aspect is to let the natural light flow in the office.
