Yesterday, the technology center, Technology Center Seestadt, in Vienna, Austria placed an order on the Parans system. The systems will be used to create a sunlit atrium in the entrance of one of the main buildings. The order value amounts to approximately 80 000 EUR.

The Technology Center in Vienna advocates modern architecture and open spaces. They are aware about that pleasant offices are created with daylight. The challenge for this modern building is that the roof and walls are significantly covered by solar cells, which eliminates sunlight via windows in some parts of the building. In the middle of the center, an atrium has been created, and instead of traditionally providing the atrium with light emitted from an open roof or skylight, natural light is spread in it via the Parans system. In the installation, the light will alternate between the artificial light and Parans' natural sunlight three floors down. From the inner ceiling, it is 15 meters down to the entrance floor where the tenants will be welcomed by a strong sunlight (1000 lux) thanks to the Parans system. Parans has worked with the architectural firm ATP for a year, to create this innovative solution. The installation will take place during spring 2019.
- The installation will be a fantastic inspiring example of how a ”skylight” can be created without ordinary windows, says Anders Koritz, CEO at Parans. We find that architects, lighting designers and property owners consider it more and more attractive to create solutions with natural light without the need for windows. No one will, or need to, give up the natural light, but at the same time there could be architectural limitations to emit natural light via windows. Via Parans’ solutions, the natural light can flow in the atrium, though this time it comes through a fiber optic cable.
